Duties of the Executive Director of the MSHSCA

This is a  part time salaried position. Compensation will be discussed during the interview process.

  • Handles the membership application process, including dues payments.
  • Responsible for all pertinent mailings to officers, delegates and sport association officers.
  • Sets up meetings, dates, location for all the meetings of the association and assists the President in preparing the agendas.
  • Shares an official representative role with the President and works closely with the President on all matters.
  • Acts as a liaison person with all affiliated sport associations.
  • Prepares the budget, handles finances and makes reports on finance available to the Finance Committee and the Delegate Assembly.
  • Salaried position as recommended by the Executive Committee and approved by the Delegate Assembly.
  • Works closely with the sport associations leaders on unified dues collection and payments.
  • Keeps membership information updated and available for sport association and assists at their clinics or will delegate the responsibility to another qualified person.
  • Advises Executive Committee of any needs for legislative action and assistance.
  • Provides an Annual Report of activities and finances to the March Delegate Assembly.
  • Distributes press releases when necessary.
  • Represents the MSHSCA at meetings of the MSHSCA Board of Directors or other bodies at which official recommendations of this association are presented or advise designated MSHSCA’s representatives accordingly.
  • Responsible for the pursuit of corporate financial assistance for the association.
  • Serves as Minnesota’s official representative to the National Organization of Coaches Association Directors (NOCAD).
  • Is an ad-hoc member of the Finance, Special Events and Constitution Committees.
  • Writes columns for each issue of the Minnesota Prep Coach.


  • October 22 - November 26, 2019 - Accepting Applications 
  • December 11- 20, 2019 - Tentative Interview dates
  • January of 2020 - Begin training and some duties under the direction of the current Executive Director transitioning to full time duties.
  • March of 2020 - Recommend Candidate to the MSHSCA Delegate Assembly  for approval.
